Construction of Sectioning Stations and Terminals – Colombia/Venezuela Gas Interconnection
Sunbelt Surplus S.A. played a crucial role in the gas interconnection project between Colombia and Venezuela. We were responsible for the construction of sectionalizing stations and terminals, critical infrastructures for the system's operation.
As part of Package C, we successfully executed highly complex works at the Terminal Ramón Laguna, Rafael Urdaneta, and Bajo Grande stations. All work was carried out in strict compliance with the most rigorous technical and binational safety standards.
Our involvement included a comprehensive scope of work, which covered:
- Civil engineering and structure assembly: Design and execution of the civil works required for equipment and line support, followed by the assembly of the stations' main structures.
- Installation of control systems and interconnection lines: Commissioning of state-of-the-art control systems, installation of strategic sectionalizing valves, and laying of interconnection lines.
- Electrical and mechanical adaptation: Implementation of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring their compliance with international standards for safe and efficient operation.
- Logistical and operational coordination: Management of logistics in energy border zones, an environment with unique challenges that required meticulous coordination to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
This work reaffirmed Sunbelt Surplus S.A.'s ability to execute large-scale and highly complex projects, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in energy infrastructure of regional importance.
